Information we use
Depending on how you use our services, we use contact details you provide, messages and window photographs you send us, and shutter designs, measurements, materials, colours and notes you save or add to your basket. If you use an account, we also process its login and preference information. Our hosting services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser/device details and website activity to operate, secure and maintain the website.
Please avoid including unnecessary personal information in window names, design notes or photographs.
Why we use it
We use information to respond to your enquiries, prepare requested quotations, provide the configurator and basket, remember your choices and support our customer relationship. Where relevant, this is to take steps at your request before entering a contract or to perform a contract. We also use information for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting our website, preventing misuse and resolving disputes, and where necessary to comply with legal obligations. Where an activity requires consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Website storage and cookies
The configurator saves designs on your device using browser storage. Language and currency choices are also stored on your device. Adding an item to the basket sends its configuration to our WordPress/WooCommerce website, where it is associated with your basket session. Website and basket cookies may be used to remember sessions and support security. Hosting or other enabled services may also use cookies as described in their privacy information.
You can manage cookies and clear stored site data in your browser settings. Clearing this data may remove saved designs and preferences or interrupt basket functionality. Browser settings do not delete information you have already sent to us in messages or other records.
Hosting, contact services and disclosure
Our current website is hosted on WordPress.com, with WooCommerce providing basket functionality. Relevant information is processed by hosting and technical service providers to provide these services. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy for its information about processing.
Email links open your email application. Our WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp only when you follow the link; it does not automatically send a message or upload your design. Email and messaging services process communications under their own terms and privacy policies. Information you choose to send is used to respond to you.
We may also disclose information when you request or consent to it, to service providers supporting our business, where required by law, or where necessary to protect rights and investigate misuse. External websites and services have their own privacy practices.
Payments
Online payments are currently unavailable on this website. The current configurator and basket do not ask for payment-card details. We will update the payment information when an online payment provider is enabled. Please do not send card details in email, WhatsApp or design notes.
Retention and security
How long we retain information depends on whether it is needed to respond to your enquiry, provide services, maintain relevant customer records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce applicable agreements. Saved browser data remains subject to your browser’s storage controls. No security measure can guarantee perfect security; avoid sending sensitive information through unsuitable channels.
International processing
Our contact address is in China, and our service providers may process information in other countries. As set out in our previous privacy policy, transfers outside the UK or European Economic Area rely on applicable recognised safeguards, such as relevant standard contractual clauses, or an applicable adequacy decision. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your information.
Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or object to certain processing. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it. Contact us using the details above. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You can also appoint an authorised representative where permitted by law.
If you receive promotional communications, you may opt out using the unsubscribe instructions or by contacting us. This does not prevent service-related replies that are necessary to handle your enquiry or existing relationship.
You may complain to your relevant data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or an EEA supervisory authority.
Children and updates
Our services are not intended for children. If a child has provided personal information, a parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion. We may update this policy when our services or practices change and will update the date above.
