FAQs
Choosing your shutters
What are your shutters made from?
Our handcrafted solid wood shutters are made to your measurements, with paulownia and basswood among the available materials. PVC and aluminium options are also available for different spaces. Talk to us about materials and finishes before choosing.
How does DIY help me save?
Factory-direct supply keeps the journey from maker to your home simple. Taking your own measurements and fitting your shutters yourself saves the cost of arranging those services separately, with guidance from our team along the way.
Can I balance light, privacy and airflow?
Tilt the louvres to let in daylight while adjusting privacy, and allow airflow when your window is open. Closing them reduces incoming light, but shutters are not a complete blackout solution: some light can pass around the edges and between louvres.
What if my windows are an unusual shape?
For arched, angled or other unusual windows, send us a photo and approximate dimensions before ordering. We can discuss your window and confirm whether a suitable design is available, along with the measuring requirements and price.
Measuring & fitting
Can I measure and fit them myself?
You can take your own measurements and fit your shutters, with guidance from our team. Start with a tape measure and get measuring help before submitting your final sizes; phone measurements are best kept to initial estimates. If you would prefer help with fitting, you can arrange a local installer.
Will fitting leave marks on my walls or window frames?
Fitting generally involves screw fixings, so small holes may remain if the shutters are removed. The fixing position depends on your window, shutter frame and mounting surface. Share a photo of your window so you can discuss the fitting approach before ordering.
Will my shutters stay securely in place?
A secure fit depends on a sound mounting surface and fixings suited to that surface and the shutter frame. Follow the fitting instructions, and ask for advice if you are unsure about the surface or fixing method. If a frame feels loose after fitting, stop using it and have the installation checked.
Orders & aftercare
When will my order arrive?
See our Shipping policy for production and delivery estimates. Contact us to confirm the schedule for your destination.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Because all our products are made to measure, your order will be sent to our factory for production within five working days of being placed. You may amend or cancel your order at any time before production begins. Once production has started, however, we’re unable to accept any changes or cancellations.
What if my shutters arrive damaged or faulty?
If your product arrives damaged or doesn’t meet our quality standards due to an issue on our side, you may return it or request a replacement, which we’ll send free of charge.
